Yay, it's the weekend!! I say that like it means something, but really, my weekends start thursday at 3 and I can't even complain about my weekdays-which consist of laying in the sun, eating frozen kit-kats (they taste better here than in the US) and maybe going to class if it isn't cancelled. I think I am going to be shocked when I return home and actually have to do things.
In a couple hours, Barbie, my new favorite person Liz (from Maryland) and I are going to our friend David's beach house in Protaras. It's a beach town near Aiya Napa. I am sooooo excited. It's going to be great to get away from bustling Nicosia for a couple days. I will be sure to take lots of pictures and I'll post them when I get back.
I don't have much else to write in this post (it's kind of a "filler" post, just to keep people happy until I actually have some good stories and pictures to share with you). One funny quirk about Cyprus is how much the Cypriots love honking their horn. They lay on their horn the second the light turns green so the person in front of them will move. If your walking across a crosswalk they will beep their horn at you so you'll run the rest of the way across. They also honk at every single person walking down the side of the road. Liz has a theory...you get one honk if you're human, two honks if you're a girl, and a long series of honks if you're somewhat attractive. It's funny, because many Americans would think of the Cypriots as creepy...but it doesn't feel like that when you're over here. Just funny. Here is a great pic of me running away from a guy who got out of his car and ran after me with his camera. Ha!
mini chocolate croissants are the death of me...they come in packages of 8...be happy they don't have them in the states or you would be FAT,

P.S. Thanks to all who left me comments on my last couple blogs. I am honored to have so many readers! I need to find a way to make this blogging thing into a career.
P.P.S. People love Obama over here. The Cypriots seem to be pulling for him.
